<Abstract>
This article looks for a methodology to study the original Korean novel efficiently and objectively. To this end, we conducted a correlation analysis and hierarchy analysis on the 15 volumes of Ewha Womans University and 21 volumes of Gyujanggak, two of the series, and identified the patterns of variation between the two.
As a result, Different Versions of the < So Hyeon-seong nok > series show the following formation process.
First, “So Hyeon-seong”, “So Un-seong”, “So Un-myeong”, “So Su-bing”, and “So Un-kyeong”, etc. that are either individually present or co-authored are primarily combined. Thereafter, “So Su-joo” are inserted, and finally, “So Un-hee”, “Bonjeonbyeolseo”, and “Mongyulog” are inserted to form versions with current composition. The results of the hierarchical analysis show that Ewha Womans University’s 15-volume version and Kyujanggak’s 21-volume version influenced and changed each other.
