<Abstract>
Discussion of technology development of self-driving cars is thriving in government, business, and academia, with blind trust and vague fear at both extremes of the spectrum. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the characteristics and limitations of current autonomous vehicles. The method of this paper analyzed common characteristics by analyzing ethics-related papers on autonomous vehicles. The content of the paper raises the question of the confusion of terms about autonomy, the ambiguity of the autonomous driving stage, and the absolute belief in the safety of the autonomous vehicle in the current debate on autonomous vehicles. We would like to discuss the limitations of the moral machine, which are representative ethical discussions on. The results of this paper criticize that the discussion of autonomous vehicles focuses only on the algorithm technology of autonomous vehicles and emphasize that it should be a discussion on human-centered autonomous vehicles.
