<Abstract>
This paper aims to examine the possibilities and limitations of artificial intelligence literature in terms of creativity. For this purpose, this paper examines three types of creativity: combinational creativity, exploratory creativity, and transformative creativity. We then compare the well-known (among Shakespeare’s sonnets) sonnet 18 “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day” and the sonnet results calculated by the artificial intelligence algorithm using a deep learning method. Shakespeare’s sonnet illustrates all three types of creativity. However, the sonnets produced by the artificial intelligence Shakespeare, with iambic pentameter and a typical rhyme scheme, capture exploratory and transformative methods. However, they show defects in emotions, meanings, and readability according to the combinational type of creativity. This leads us to conclude that we must emphasize the function of emotions in training artificial intelligence.
