Abstract

With the advent of the fourth industrial revolution, a new type of talent suitable for the future society is required. In the future society, the ability to discover and solve problems based on convergence thinking in everyday life is required, rather than acquiring fragmentary knowledge. In particular, as the demand for the cultivation of “AI literacy” competency to know, use, and create AI increases, the need for convergence education and STEAM education based on AI technology instead of the existing traditional education method is increasing. Similar to the convergence actively occurring between industries (Blg blur), centered on cutting-edge technology, the educational world is also attempting convergence by breaking the walls between subjects. However, this is still concentrated on a few subjects, and many technology-oriented convergences exist based on computational thinking. Therefore, in this study, we designed a humanities convergence talent education (Humanities STEAM, hereinafter Hu-STEAM) program centered on [Korean language + Drama + Information (Computer)] that combines technology centered on humanities and arts to provide “warm” education based on humanities knowledge. We aim to develop AI literacy capabilities. Therefore, phenomenon-based learning was used to discover and solve problems in learnersʼ real lives (phenomena). Using the novel <Kkeopittanli> presented in the Korean language textbook for the second semester of the third year of middle school as a free text, we discovered the learnerʼs dilemma in real life, designed the dilemma situation into a theatrical scene, and created co-spaces visualized by coding. Through this, we could explore humanistic, artistic, and technological solutions to problems in the phenomenon and develop humanities-based AI literacy capabilities.
