abstract
Since the advent of digital media, space-time has been reorganized. In particular, recently, the phenomenon of hybridization between media space and real space has been remarkable. ‘Augmented reality’, ‘mixed reality’ and ‘expended reality’, which are being discussed in earnest beyond virtual reality, are the result. These spaces have already become everyday spaces. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the media space centering on the existing space and place theory. In this article, I will define and analyze these media spaces as media heterotopia. To this end, I will first summarize Foucault's concept of heterotopia. Next, I will look at the media heterotopia by dividing it into before and after digital media. Finally, I will talk about the recognition of the hybridized subject as a resident in a digital heterotopia. This is because not only the identity of the subject is reconstructed in the digital heterotopia, but the body is also reconstructed through combination with other body images. |
