<Abstract>
Ever since Klaus Schwab’s speech on the Fourth Industrial Revolution at the 2016 World Economic Forum, artificial intelligence (AI) has not only become a core branch of learning in computer science but has also become an integral technology in many aspects of our lives. The COVID-19 pandemic of 2020, which has brought the entire world to a screeching halt, has further enmeshed AI technology into daily life. For college students building their future careers amidst such changes, AI is no longer a mere subject in technical education but a key element in planning and designing their lives. Therefore, there is an urgent need for an AI literacy program that integrates AI-related education into the humanities curriculum. This study first establishes a definition of AI literacy based on existing literacy theories to design a program integrating AI and humanities education. The study also arrives at further insights into this integrated education program design by reviewing currently available AI-related university education facilitated through various projects. The study is meaningful in its attempt to design a program for the AI era in combination with liberal arts education.
